What to Expect: Loving Well

What to expect: Loving Well

“For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind.”

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

Kim’s turn to talk and its all about L-O-V-E.  Caring For The Woman’s Heart will be a time to reflect upon and navigate the winding and scenic road of Loving Well. My blog posts will often be questions to ponder with the Lord and encouraging stories from those who have loved well. But also stories of those who may have missed the mark. I love to hear from those with different life experiences and outlooks and believe the Lord uses diverse voices to train us in compassion, humility and loving well.   You can expect a few things in my blog posts.

  1. I value transparency and true to life stories. You may find that my posts raise more questions than answers but you can expect to be challenged to think deeper thoughts and step outside of your comfort zone in loving others. I have found that wrestling with the questions of my heart with Jesus as well as engaging in honest and respectful dialogue with those of different faith convictions has done more to solidify my relationship with my Lord than memorizing a lot of pat “answers” Jesus calls all of us, like Peter, to step out of the boat, to be in the world but not of the world. This is the essence of loving well and it requires a bit of risk in stepping out of our comfort zones to reach others with the love of Christ.
  2. New voices in the dialogue. I glean from other writers who also value the power of a good question and who aren’t afraid to wrestle with scripture and allow the word to become active and alive in them. So, occasionally I may share posts from other bloggers who I have found helpful in my own journey to love well.
  3. I am an encourager to my core! You can expect to be challenged but not like that awful 5th grade teacher. I hope to always challenge with a little grin on my face…more like your impish best friend who loves to tease out the heart of the matter! Ultimately my aim is to encourage deeply rooted faith that comes from an honest and intelligent searching of ones heart in the light of scripture, the life of Jesus and the reality of this world. I want to inspire you to be able to give a authentic answer to those who want to know why you believe what you believe. My prayer is that, as we seek to Love Well, and own our faith, others will be drawn to the Jesus in us and desire an honest relationship with Him for themselves.

Love Well,

Kim
